The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

Outdoor Genius proudly delivers the Expedition sections of Bronze, Silver and Gold throughout the UK to Schools. Our outstanding team of Instructors and Assessors truly believe in the value and ethos of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. This passion shows itself when working on either training in schools or in the wilds of Snowdonia.

We have worked with Outdoor Genius for several years now. In the last couple of years, we have handed over the running of all our DofE to them. They do all the organisation for all our expeditions, provide all the specialist staff (all of whom are amazing). This arrangement has improved our proposition and has made an enormous difference to the expectations and workloads of our own school staff. We now really enjoy, rather than endure, the DofE season!”

Safety Matters

Outdoor Genius take the safety and welfare of all participants extremely seriously. We are a DofE Approved Activity Provider (AAP) dedicated to delivering all levels of the award to the highest standard.

We hold a licence to run adventurous activities to anyone under the age of 18 years old through the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority  (AALA) which is an arm of HSE.

Outdoor Genius also hold the non statutory Adventuremark which demonstrates a commitment to high levels of safety for adventurous activities outside the scope of AALA.

Outdoor Genius are also passionate about all participants engaging with the countryside in a safe and educational way. To this end we have been awarded the Learning Outside the Classroom Quality badge for our educational content.

We have a wealth of experience both assessing and training DofE participants over the last 30 years with Colleges, Universities and school students.
